Introduction

The Tarpon Tides are competing in the 2020 Gray’s Reef - Southeast MATE ROV Competition. It will be our second time competing in a ROV competition, but we believe our team and ROV has the smarts and intelligence to meet the tasks and needs of this event. We are from the Tampa Bay area and have experience in robot programming and building from doing projects in school, after school classes, camps etc. We have a wonderful and smart team that has a passion for science and technology that have pushed their teammates to give their best and to strive for perfection. This has been proven in our ROV because of the clever solutions to complete tasks using a combination of electromagnets, 3D printed shrouds, magnets, airbags and other genius tools. With these ingenious tools and engineering, Magneto, our ROV, will complete the tasks and deliver excellent performance and results.
